plugged me scanner in the other day and noticed a spark from the USB port + xp error message saying "power surge"

thought the USB port might be goosed but no problems with a fair few USB devices... Scanner and Saitek steering wheel are the only devices that will not work. I've tried every USB port but the scanner nor wheel will not work.
