Is it worth getting...

I'm building a new PC to replace my TV, Radio, DVD Player and of course my existing PC.

I'm wanting to get a Shuttle barebones which has the media center front display on the front of it... But i'm wondering if those features will work on normal XP with the correct software instelled

No its not.
MCE is basically a program on top of xp.
There are others that do the same.
MCE might be a good way of doing what you're aiming though ed.

Hell yes!!! just got mine up and running and I love it.

I wouldnt want it for my PC though, but sitting by the TV just running the Media Centre bit its ace IMO

Got all my music, pics, films on there. Also got the MS Remote control, so really just acts like a multimedia storage device attached to my TV, that I can control fully with the remote

XP Pro...and only XP Pro....(even if MCE is almost XP pro)
