No i'm planning on doing this sound system soon, only thing is I have seen the amps I want and they're both 2 channel...

one for rear sub
one for either front or rear speakers

so you think amp the front then?

see what you mean Wrighty, but then again you can effectively have a louder system as you could turn it up further if its not as loud in the front

plus speakers are nearly 3 times as powerful in the rear

yeah true cheers for the advice

just out of curiosity...what would happen if I was to put 4 speakers onto a 2 channel amp

would the current get distributed evenly or would it blow up eventually?

you wouldnt be able to unless you bodged it mate

need 2 terminals for 1 speaker,2ch amp will have 4 terminals, for 4 speakers you will need 8 terminals

could be done, wouldnt do the equipment any good i guess?

dunno about needing to bodge it, surely its just a matter of two wires into each terminal?

dont suppose it could damage the headunit or the speakers, just the amp

you hardly ever hear of amps going wrong though, at least i haven't

It would half the ohms on the load which can cause problems depending on what ohms your speakers and amps are.
