If I brake pretty hard and just before I stop u can hear a loud knock on the drivers side. Is my car calling out for V6 brakes?

Now the MOT bloke said I have play in my drivers-side strut, could this be linked in anyway?

Rubbers could be knackered in the strut, not very expensive to replace an either.

Your not looking any CV grease are you?

Does your car knock when you pull away again or not?

I know its obvious but first thing to do is check ur wheels are tightened properly

Nope, just when Im about to stop.

Are the rubbers located at the top of the strut?

there's definately a bush gone tits up somewhere by the sound of it

Where are the suspension bushes located? Isnt there a few around the wishbone?

front end is full of em mate... roll bars, ties bars, strut top mounts

jack it up and look for visible signs of perishing or play in the suspension (basically grab and swing like a monkey from random bits)
