i got a 50 quid fine for parkin in a bust lane 
i was there fore 20 seconds and my car was about less than a meter in the lane
there was no bussess at that time
i only needed to get sumin from the boot then got back in to car
50 quid is alot for just that
wot can i do ?

I taje it you were caught by a camera then?
Theres a zero tolerence for bus lanes in some places, pay up and dont do it again

say you had to stop in an emergency and u didnt want to risk driving any further. say u heard somethin knock at the back or summet. surley its safer to stop and check rather than keep goin coz of some gay law stopping you pullin up in a bus lane

after thinking about it i actually stopped of and went into lyods motorspares for something it was a sort of emergency as my backbox was hanging off i needed new rubbers then iu went powerflow nxt day !

Not much you can do, most of the pictures are from video cameras (in London anyway), so they will be able to see exactly what happened and how long you were there.
I've had two of these bloody £50 fines now

Learn your lesson and pay the fine i'm affraid, seems a little hars, but it'll probably cos more that £50 to try and wriggle out of it. Sorry mate

arn't most of the bus lane cameras actually on the busses around london now? so you only get caught when you're in the way of a bus?
we been having an argument at work about it last week so maybe someone knows the real answer!!!
As for the fine, it'll cost you more at the end of the day to try and contest it, may as well just pay it and forget about it... harsh

Yeah there's not a lot you can do - if you want to contest it, you have to wait for them to send you an enforcement notice, and by that time, the fine's gone up to £100 - so less hassle just to pay it. Extortion I think...
Anyway, there are fixed cameras as well - I believe they also use the 'CCTV' style cameras as well (On my street within a 0.5KM distance, there's about 3 possible cameras covering bus lanes!).
There are no legal signs saying 'this area is being monitored by London Borough of Southwark for the purposes of Crime Prevention', there's just signs dotted around here and there that say 'Bus Lane Cameras' so that must be what they are being used for.
But you are right, there are cameras on buses as well. The leaflet which came with my last fine says there are 3000 cameras around London now monitoring bus lanes!?!
