Me & a mate of mine are at our wints end.

His just bought a set of speedline alessio 2's for his 1.4 sport the problem we're having is that the wheels wont fit over the brake calipers properly & touch the alloys, these wheels were originally fitted to astra mk2 with v6 brake set up,

Are spacers required to aid the fitting of these??

Dan

thats what we did in the end to get them on the front, but the centre caps wouldnt go on then, and when we took it for a test run upto the corsasport meet it keep catching on the drivers side rear, only thing left to do is to put spacers on and see if that works,if not then im considering buying them for corsa c

fit the spacers to the fronts. for thr centre car, youi need to chop off some of the threaded part of the cv joint where the castle nut goes on.

on the rear, remove the dust cap and move the split pin out the way

Dont need spacers

As stated you need to dress the callipers back slightly.
On the rear take the dust caps off and leave them off.
On the front knock the sticker centres out the centre caps and drill throught the middle of them leaving a small amount of metal around the outside to stick the centres back onto.

you would have thought that a set of alloys designed purely for vxls you wouldnt need to do all this messing around,i will pass the info onto him.

tbh id rather use spacers than go attacking callipers.

each to their own though i guess

anybody got any ideas why it only catches on the driver side rear and its only every so often,th eonly reason i can think of is that this side of the car was replaced when someone on a motorbike was going to fast and smashed straight into the side of my mate, and that the pannel they replaced it with was not a genuine vxl part

it sounds if its catching on the outer arch but theres plenty of room there, its either catching in the top of the arch which could mean a knackered shock or its catching on the shock its self
