argh, i just noticed a lot of sludge

i got quotes from vxl £100, or an indpendent garage £60...does that sound realistic? i dunno when it split, but i need the car...am i ok to drive it

A bailcast strechy boot will cost about £6 if you want to do it yourself. Need to remove the driveshaft from the wheel-hub, turn the boot inside out then strech it over the CV then cable tie it in place.

I got a local garidge that fits a new genuine vaux boot for £35 including the parts (VAT on top of that so about $40 I guess). I watched the mechanic last time, he did it without taking the wheel off with the car up on the hydraulic lift, took him about 15 minutes. £60 sounds a bit steep I'd shop around. I got quoted £90 odd by vauxhall main dealer pmsl!
