got a legacy la890 amp with 2x12 subs approx 300Wrms each - 8gauge power cable with 4 gauge earth cable.
Yesterday happily driving along with the volume on fairly low and noticed that there was no bass, pulled into a carpark and looked to see if the protection light came on - there were no lights on at all. Fiddled around with the wires later on, still didnt work so tried another amp and it worked, put the legacy back in and it worked straight away, no problems. Pulled out of work tonight and everything was ok, then the amp just cut out again, checked it and no lights are on. Can't be a power cable problem because ive had it installed for about 5months with NO issues
any ideas?

Dodgy earth or remote i would think, just a guess though

ill swap earths and get back to you but as i said its had the same cables and earth for around 5 months with no issues.

replaced earth and not a dicky. Wired up the test amp and it worked fine. Wired the legacy back in and everything works ok, its like the cables need a jump start or something

checked the remote wire from hu mate?

i did check the connection at the back of HU and it seemed ok but it may need soldering as its just been connected by electrical tape.

have you tried legacy amp up againt OTHER drivers? get any probs wit that?

grrr. It has been fine up until last thursday when it cut out again. I cant think what it could be. Ive disconnected and reconnected the wires and it still wont turn on.
