Scenario

I have a Corsa B Vegas 1996. For a while it hasn't locked properly. It's driving me loopy. At the moment I have to plug in fuse 13 when I want my petrol cap or Boot open then quickly whip out the fuse and lock it. I can't leave the fuse in all the time as it cannot be trusted on it's own. Can anyone shed some light on what might be causing this?

What happens:

On pushing the pin down, Locking via Key, Locking Via Alarm Fob. The locks will lock for 1 second then pop back up again. Resulting in the car not being locked. If I use the alarm it's still activated but the locks aren't. I left the car is Portsmouth one day went away for an hour and came back to find the thing unlocked.

Not amused. I took it home sat outside and locked the car with the Key. After 5 minutes the pins popped up for no reason. Unlocked again . Repeated the experiment and it happened after 20 minutes. Has been known to happen through the night too. This leaves me unamused.

Conclusion

Has Anyone heard of dodgy central locking like this before? What can I replace to make it work? I've tried unplugging all the C/L pumps except the Fuel Door one (I don't know where it is).

Please, Please, Please - Help me

It sounds like you have a short somewhere on an unlock wire.
Unplugging the fuel cap motor won't affect it, so don't bother with that.

Best way to test, would be to locate the unlock wire at the plug for the brain (Brown/White) & test for earth. Bearing in mind that the earth may be intermittant.. so you may have to try & replicate the conditions that make the problem occur.

Failing that, try replacing the brain.. they only cost about £5 from a breakers.
