Hello!
Right, i've had an oil leak on my x12xe for some time now, on the alternator side of the car just above the sump. There is something that looks like a large spring there, what its for i dont know.
I had it ticking over tonight and it actually was ticking, bottom end area noise, maybe oil/water pump?
Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem? I suppose it could be one on the pulleys off the alternator, bearing gone?
Haven't had time to have a good look as yet
Any help appreciated.

I had a similiar problem myself, leaking and ticking, the ticking went after a while and leaking worse after longer journeys. Turned out to be either the cyclinder head gasket or cam housing gasket, not a major prob, will last out but when it goes, it goes, garage quoted me £400 for parts and labour but a mate from work offered to do the work for £50.
