Is it safe to plane about 1ml off the back of a set of alloys. The outer edges on them stick out on them so that if you put them on a car they don't rub against the brake caliper?. Can't see anything unsafe about it, aslong as it's not too much. Any ideas ?

technically shouldnt be a problem... but you could then find in an accident the wheels might collapse too easy, probly that certain thickness for a reason

They are massive on the underside, the outerside of them (bit you see when lookin @ side of car) folds in anyway so was thinking that might be why they are there. It's only the front two that would need done, back two are fine as it's drums on them .
