Where would the best place be to mount a set of 3 ways in the front? Am I right in thinking that down in the doors isn't the best place? Would they be best mounted higher up, say on the dash?

tweeter in the footwell (by your ECU )
then the mid and bass thingys in the doors.. sorted

The tweeter gives the most directional sound -- you want to keep it around ear level if possible...
