Just bought a new head unit but the radio keeps losing its settings!
it did this on the old one and i thought it may have been the stereo at fault!
i know its something to do with red and yellow wires. Can anyone help?
Pics would be appreciated!
or step by step guide!
thanks

where exactly do they plug into?
the wiring bit or the actual stereo itself?
i think its the actual adapter fitted to the car thats causing the problem, not the one going to the head unit

What headunit is it? Is it alpine? If it is swap the red and the yellow wires around.

if its just connected with an ISO block put the fuse into the other slot just above or below where the fuse is at the moment.
That solved my JVC

As above, swap the red and yellow wires round on the loom coming from the back of the headunit into the car's loom. That will sort it.

mine had no main battery wire, I had to get a little wire with a fuse and some kind of transformer in it and run it from the battery

needs a permanent live feed to it (what swapping the 2 wires round does... this is basically what an iso cable does)
that should sort it good and proper
