Right I normally repair cars that are basically standard but I have a pre-modified car arriving next week and one of the jobs that need to be done is the refitting of a scooby bonnet vent
I would have advised the total removal of it but hes drilled holes underneath it to make it 'functional'
Anyway I basically need to know how to go about fitting it correctly.....I was going to pop rivit it in place on the bonnet along with tigerseal around it so that it has a nice waterproof seal and then smooth the edges into the bonnet.
Would bumper fill be a good idea, ive heard enough people saying that filler and fiberglass isnt enough but bumper fill is supposed to allow for some flex????
Wot do you lot reckon?

If its re-fitting, does that mean you will be taking the vent off the bonnet then re-fitting it to the same bonnet? or will you be taking the vent off and fitting it to a new bonnet?

What ever you do it's going to crack eventually. Bumperfill is the flexy stuff right? That might work... The main problem though is the heat from the engine....

I have an f50 vent had it for about a year now, its pop rivited around the edges (every 2 inches) and also fibreglassed over the joins all the way around, and then filled smooth,
hasnt cracked yet.
If it is done correctly it wont crack
