heart burn is caused by:
the muscle thats down the bottom of the throat that opens the stomach, if it isnt working correctly, it can release when the stomach is full of food, allowing stomach acid to leak into the bottom of the throat, causing the burning sensation, which doesnt happen in the stomach as the lining protects itself.
