About 500-1K miles, buy some cheap Vaux mineral oil for the first 500miles, dump it, another load of cheap mineral for another 500 dump that and then the good quality stuff with a new filter. Try to keep revs between 2K and 3.5K would be my sugestion

take it easy for around 500-1K miles stick to around 3K max and vary the load...stop start trafic, motorway journeys etc dont do a long motorway journey or just leave it iddling make sure it gets driven. then after 500 miles start putting in on harder load as the piston rings need to expand etc. Dont have to go mad but the longer you take bedding everything in the longer it will last. Also run the car for around 100 miles then dump the oil then do another change at 1K miles

Gentle up to 500 miles then you need to progessively increase the revs up to the 1000 mile mark. You need to vary the load conditions all the time, use lots of over run and use the gears.
Being too gentle doesn't help.
