The spring you'll see on the handle has rusted. Vauxhall don't sell this spring seperatly. Would it be possible to take the spring off the old handle i have and try and feed it on? Or will i have to try and remove that "stick". Looks solid though, will it be a case of cutting it off?

Just buy a new door handle and spray it / get it sprayed

i've just spent £20 on these handles. i don't want to start from the beginning again...

You'll have to buy a new handle anyway.
Add the time and effort to try and remove the old spring, only to break it... you'd be better off just getting another handle painted.
