firstly going to book car in for a service.
but this is what was happening,
driving normally and the engine light comes on. so pulled up by the side of the road and switched car off for 5 mins.
Started it up again and the rev metre was jumping up and down from 500 - 1000 revs. Drove to the nearest petrol station and left the car for 15 mins to cool down abit.
started it up again and the same problem occurs but then the engine light switches off so started driving the car home, went to change gear into 3rd and the car stalled and the steering wheel locked up, but used force to turn the wheel and parked up again.
what do you guys reckon the problem is with the car??? 
worst thing is i got flashed by a traffic light camera just before that happened.

water in the engine is only thing i can think off, but it wouldnt start easily again if that was the case

i have only jus filled up my water with antifreeze in, so dont think thats the case?
