might b buying an ipod 2nd generation but it has no software disc, where can i find the disc to download etc.

why are they meant to be dodgy then, i heard they dont last but aparently it get 8 hours playback per charge, whihc i dindt think was much for an ipod altho i havent a clue

you are doing well to get 6 hours from a full charge.

not sure what gen but if that have lost the power to play it will cost ya about £80 to replace tho apple and u have to send unit to aapple as well
get yourself a PDA with good specs
then u can watch dvd play any mp3's and not worry about lience to the music you have on it

well it 20 quid with ipod on its own, 15 quid fora charger off ebay, i reckon that quite a bargian, comes with firewire lead aswell, just no software

I've got an Archos AV440. Plays films too, and stores photos. Bit bigger and heavier than the i-pod, but more for your money

i THINK my mate has a 3rd gen iPod.

The battery life they state is at optimum conditions, e.g. moderate sound, little use, just leaving it on basically. Like said above you'll be lucky to get 6 hours really.

for £35 you can't go wrong really

You really only need iTunes aslong as the iPod has been used with a PC in the past. If the previous user's had it with a Mac, you'll need to rewrite the iPod with the PC-friendly version of the software.

I have a 4th gen colour iPod... Ive yet to see how long a full charge wud last but i think no more than 7 hrs :S
