Hey, the time and date on my MFD keeps resetting back to 00 0 and the date to 1992. Like today I drove to college and it was at the right time, at dinner time it had reset again whilst the car was switched off.

Is my battery dying?

Ive also put some of cobras LEDs in it, could I have fooked it while doing that?

Cheers

I changed the head unit the day I got the car, and Im pretty sure the clocks worked since then. Your probably right about the plug, It was a rushed bodge job anyway, Ill have to take that cnut back out again and check it. Cheers

Oh and 3CM, Its not as consistant as that, ie it doesnt lose power EVERY time, just sometimes.

yeah the plugs on the back of MFD's are notoriously bad. it could be the actual soldering of the plug recepticle to the board thats the prob speical as i assume you will have messed with it if not disconnected to change the bulbs. i had to resolder the one on my old corsa and that had exactly the same simptoms. I'd check it out if i were you

Right, I took out the mfd, and when I tried to unplug it, the plug AND the connecter fell out of the MFD IN my hand So I plugged it back in (I dont have any soldering gear) and then just before screwing it back in, I turned on the interior light and the clock didnt light up, so I lifted the mfd out of its hole, and as I did - it lit up! So Ive found an angle for the wire where the clock illuminates - must be well fucked in there somewhere.

Oh well.
