the car sits higher with the helper spring.

the problem as u lower the coilover the spring platform gets closer to the tyre

look at this picture... u can see that if you lower the car anymore the spring platform is going to rubb the tyre......

The coilovers are designed for a 6.5" max wheel width, any more and you need spacers....

Unless your me as i have 7x 17's and originally had to fit spacers. Took the car to bodyshop where he mucked about with my archs ad hes adjusted the camber such that i dont need spacers at all anymore.
The cambers not wrong either i had it all chacked and its spot on, and as i say no spacers at all anymore.

i'll u2u him and find out if this 'mucking' was alot of work

I have Dare X1's if you set up the camber correctly on the dares, the wheels fit without needing to change any springs. My setup is all standard, just with the camber setup as per vauxhalls std specs and they go on fine with about 3-4 mm between the tyre and the spring.

the arch work isnt to do with the fitment, i had the archs bent out to allow me to lower it more without it rubbing.
Still does rub mind lol

i have 205/40/17 rainsports at the mo, im gonna change to 195/40 to stop the rubbing at the back but nah 205 is fine on mine.

Your wheels should be identical to mine, if they dont fit id be wondering why as there shudnt be any difference.

Basically when the coilovers are fitted you need to do the camber bolt up such that the wheel fits, its easy to do, just try it in one place if it doesnt go move it until it JUST does fit without touching. Then drive it for 20-30 miles and get the camber checked.

If your lucky like me it will be sopt on but it could end up like \----/ which would be shit for handling.

Most of this stuff is luck m8!!!

yer, i was thinking that the wheels would be the same really. i think i still might get these, after all, yours fit and you also have standard arches.
was the rubbing really bad before you had the arches fiddled with?

mine was like that for a few days

17's fit with these alot better than 16's... i came to this conclusion after drawing many diagrams to see the difference in fitment from 16's to 17's

fook it, i'm gonna get them still i recon, AdiSRI has convinced me because our wheels are the same apart from the 'style'
i'll be getting a pro to fit them and then i'll be taking it back to him for camber checks every 5 minutes lol.
1 last question mate, how far can you drop without serious scrubbage?
