Just had a look at this....

and was shcked that you need to cut the standard knob off.
Did any one else do this ?
or is there an easier way to do it ???

It's probably the easiest way i think. You can be at it for hours trying the prize it off...i remember doing this in my nova and I battled with it so much I snapped this white plastic thing and the whole gearstick sprung out!
Best to just cut the biatch i think!

No, it just comes off, you give it a twist and it pops off. Simple, no heat no playing games or any of that shit.

Pull the gaitor up to expose the lower end of the shaft, there's a pin at the botton. Dislocate the pin and the stick comes out, put that in a vice and give the knob a quick turn, it'll crack the glue and fall off.
