a good bodyshop will use a sheet of steel welded over it, but people say that the corsas boot arms cant take the weight of it, might have to look into that

No matter how u do it will be heavy... most cars lifters within bout 3 inches in length.... carry measuring tape to scrappies and see what u can find... Estate cars a good bet for strong lifters, My C has mondeo estate lifters...

The metal you will weld over shouldnt really be any thincker than .5mm thick... Mine isn't too heavy, and I never got the boot lifters upgraded...

best way to do it is remove paint, weld a plate on, matt fibreglass it, then a skim of filler.

the wiper mottor ways a fair bit doesn't it?
wont the added weight of a skinny sheet of metal and some filler just replace the weight lost by removing the motor.

yeah and pay fo it to be bonded on, smoothed in and painted, and then watch it sag, tak eit all off, and pay to have it done properly.

works out a lot less if you do it properly in the first place
