Its the tie bar.

How much clearance do you have on the other side?

mate, u do not even have an anti roll bar,
the single bar you talk off is the tie bar!

no way should the wheel foul this. Even with silly sized wheels it would be hard to foul!

get a pic of this, as somethin might be really wrong with the car if this is fouling!

all 1.2l corsas have the single tie bar, i dont know where the anti roll bar is on a 1.2l. ive just got back from ponti and asked some corsa owners over there and theirs is alright.

would it make a difference if i tried the full lock when the car is on the floor and not when its jacked up when the wheel is being changed?

that is because 1.2 dont have any anti role bars!!!

something sounds very dodgy about your motor if the wheel is touching the tie rod.

no, that will totally fuck up the suspention geometry. i suggest you get it looked at properly as its obvious something is wrong. could well have had a kncok into a kerb at some point as the tie rod normally gets knocked out of place as the front end twists.

wen the 17s were being put on my car, i did a full lock to the left when the car was jacked up so the wheel was off the ground and it hit the tie bar.

but i havent tried it when the wheel has been on the floor, do u think it wud still hit when i do a full lock to the left if the car was on the floor and not jacked up???

can it be knocked back into place?
and when i went to ponti today and had a look at some corsas with 17s on, their tie rods seem to lie further away coz the tie rod goes from the wheel to the bumper bracket, theirs was further up the bumper bracket then mine??

try it, but probably not, cos the wheels will sit in a completely different place.
so let me get this straight, it only hit when the car was raised up and doesnt on the floor???

you cant knock it. i meant the only time it will be out of place is :
1. the tie rod is bent
2. the chassis has twisted.

erm yes, cos when its jacked up the whole width of the wheel will be level with it, when its on the floor it will be a smaller width as the wheel is sitting several inchs higher up the arch
