reet ppl, gonna go the different route and not put in 2 litre, just wondering if a 1.8 ecotec engine out of a astra sport or veccy will go straight into a 1.4 sport with only changing the ecu? or if not will a 1.6 ecotec go straight in swapping the ecu?

cheers ppl

1.8 is as much work and not as powerful.

1.6 is still effort and makes your car harder to sell as its an oddball.

Valver or car swap I'm afraid.

why will it be a waste of money? some prople would rather do that than chuck in a let, granted not many people will do but in my eyes it aint a waste of money.

true that the 1.6 will handle loads better and not many people do it, i didnt mean chuck a let in, just meant that for thet mone you could. or you could put a TB'd valver. what gains are you looking at one a turbo 1.6?

dunno this is off velos web site tho

A high performance (and slightly mental) Turbo Kit running at over 30 psi and expected to produce up to 300 bhp. Will be released to complement our existing range. The prototype is currently being bolted together in our workshop and assuming no-one gets hurt should be released in early 2004.

it really wont make much difference to the handleing with a 2.0
in total your only looking at about 50kg extra ontop of the 1.6 thats bugger all for all the extra power

dont be put off though, if everyone did the same thing it would be boring, turbo the 1.6 and be faster than most of the 2 litres on here hehehe

agree with greg, could smack in a c20let for cheaper, however i said in another thread yesterday its an achievement to do some good things with a 1600 engine, but i wouldnt advice fitting a turbo to a normally aspirated engine, problems await
