I need to identify what line in the system.ini would relate to symantec or norton antivirus so i can remove it from the .ini file.

I need to do this so i can reinstall Norton as i have problems.

Thats what i thought. I get a message on boot up saying " A device attached to the registry or system.ini is not working properly. Please uninstall the associated program or try reinstalling the program".

I've tried bot but i can't unistall because most of the files are gone and i can't reinstall because the install program keeps finding this older version of norton and tells me to uninstall before installation.

goto start>run> and type in
msconfig
then goto the startup tab and untick norton, so much easyer and safer.

Tried that. There is nothing relating to Norton in there.

Closest thing to me anyway is:
rundll32.exe c:\windows\system\nvcpl.dll,nvstartup
