quoted from another post I just made to you

quote:
I wouldn't get a Gforce 4 Mx 64mb - no offence mate, but they're sh*t

the 'Mx' series were the budget versions

and 64 mb on a graphics card isn't brilliant anymore - I've got a Geforce GTS 2 32mb and its basically rubbish compared to today!

You want a gfx card with 128mb or preferably 256mb!

if you get a decent gfx card then your pc will fly with games.

if I had £300

I'd probably buy a Radeon 9600 128mb Pro (£122) graphics card

A K7N2 Delta ILSR athlon motherboard (£86)

and a Athlon XP2800+ (£100)

and 512mb ddr PC2100 ram (£45)

Prices may vary... £345 not a bad system...

please note this is just picking random things + you could probably get better, but not a bad budget system.

dunno about flat screen, get a microsoft optical explorer mouse and whatever keyboard.

Upgrade yourself, it's all relatively easy - just take it one step at the time.

So strip whats in your case atm, put the motherboard in and connect the power + hard drives to it, put the new CPU + heat sink/ fan on, then put in the ram and clip on the graphics card - close the case and put mouse + keyboard + screen in the back + turn on.

tbh you probably don't need that motherboard - you could get a cheaper one, providing its amd based (socket A) and can support the cpu speed + ddr ram.
