I know they need to be changed every 40,000 miles but is there also a time period of say 3 years
My cars a 1999 1.6 at 27,000 miles

1.4/1.6 16v should be one every 30K as they have been known to go before that time and the water pump and rollers should be chnaged at the same time

yeah change water pump, belt, idler pulley and tensioner. the idler pulley and tensioners on them are shit mate
