Yes, take the top off the expansion tank & then undo the bottom hose on the rad. Then jus refill with right mix of antifreeze & water. Ul undoubtedly not get all the water out tho so remember this when ur mixin up ur antifreeze - ul be shy of the capacity in the haynes book by bout half a litre.

right looking from underneath the car i can't see the bottom of the raditor cause the structure of the car (metal beam) runs across it and the raditor sits above it.

from the engine bay i can see 2 big black hoses one on the left side and one on the right but they are at the toip of the radiator. the left pipe i can access easily if i undo this will it take the water out?

Yes, u willl get rid of some water, i dont think theres a hose right at the bottom of the rad, (tryin to remember from when i did it!) just go for the one thats the lowest of the two. U may need to take the cold air feed to the airbox off to access the left one as u look.
you could try & flush the system using the hosepipe, but ul need to undo the thermostat housing a little for this. My water was rusty & i had to do this.
Dunno if this is helpin mate?!

i tried the left hose and some water came out, and the water bottle emptied, but not much did come out and i don't think that's all of it.
Dunno what else to do

Well if u can manage to got the other hose off the rad, u can flush the rad with a hosepipe. U wont get all the water out, cos some will get stuck in the engine block as there is no drain plug, everythin below the level of the stat will still be in there.
U can undo the stat and take it off to flush thro the block, with the rad hose disconnected, but u wil still have water left in the engine. Thats why i said be careful when ur mixing up the new antifreeze, as the water already in the block will dilute it further.
