ok my friend has a relatively low value car. £500. But in the last week it's been tried to be stolen twice.

I'm looking for cheapest simpliest ideas for detterants. Got my own ideas but just wondering what you guys think. Steering wheel lock.... Worth buying a cheap one?

Connect a lead from the battery to the shell of the car. Anyone touches it will get a nice shock.

Dunno if it would work in practice, but the theory does.

Snap off steering wheel, you can get a OMP steering wheel for £40-£50 and then the snap off boss kit for about £40-£70 depending on where you buy it.
You can't steel a car you can't steer.

Guys guys the car is only worth £500.

Can she not just disconnect some ecu fuse or summet?

I thought snap off boss kit was more than that?

Daimo - Evil I like it. I think it's only kids doing this though.

Can a dog put out fires?

Best thing is like something out of Mad Max anyone starts messing with the car it blows up.

Seriously probably one of the tracking systems in my opinion.

I went to manchester once on a night out and parked my car rightout side all the clubs, didnt trust those manchester folk (considering they live a stone throw from liverpool) so took my ECU out and hid it in the boot.

I'm not even sure if it's insured for theft. The excess will be high anyway.

Cheers for suggestions so far though guys!

Get a length of chain/good padlock around the bottom of the steering wheel and around the base of the seat adjuster.

just pull the ht lead from the coil whenever u leave the car. that way they cant start the car n it wont cost u anything. u can also wire up a toggle switch to the starter or coil. cheap as chips n works well when used with a dummy flashing red light.

take the rotor button out of the disy. They won't be able to start the car and when they look in the engine bay they won't be able to see anything different
