I'm paying:

420 Mortgage
120 Loan (towards the mortgage, the seller offered 15% discount to be paid off interest free over 10 years)

120 Maintenance (inc Electricity/Water)

75 Council Tax

£35 Insurances

£35 Phone/Broadband

£80 Food (£100 if I get some booze in)

£200 Diesel

All on a 1300 a month
:o

Thats on a 75k Mortgage, the 15% making it up to 88k Value of property

I'm on 22k and when I did quick check on HSBC to see what they'd lend all they offered was 60k. Cant get a garden shed for that

Sort of the same around here - the odd place for £95k but that's it.

IIRC If it's a flat/apartment you won't need building insurance as this would be covered by the leasehold company wouldn't it?

£404 a mnth mortgage seems reasonable for £80k ish, i cud afford it i reckon!

but id guess another 300 for bills, so leaves me barely anything to live on

What would the monthly repayments on that be ? What sort of deposit do you have?

£900 after the immeadiate outgoings is very good.

£75k still isn't going to buy you very much though... then the is the continuous rise of all the bills.

It's good the mortgage rate is slowly coming down but its still high, and expensive!

Didnt know you could get 75k on only 20k a year :! Maybe there is hope for me and the missus yet. As Cosmo said £900 a month AFTER fixed outgoings is loads

I've got 110k mortgage and that was when I was on 21k! Now on 23k.

Tbh you need to see an Independant Financial advisor as they will search the whole market for you.

Nationwide only offered me 100k, but abbey would lend me 136k at the same time!

£900 is well enough to live on after mortgage (depending on if you have any extraordinary outgoings that is!).

TBF that hasn't been updated for 8 months so with the current climate may be a bit out of date but will give you a rough idea

Had mortgage advice and they said yes i can get a mortgage for 75k, but i need to run through costs to see if its a viable option!
Its a 1 bedroom apartment/coach house (ones on top of garages)
After paying the mortgage payment i would have £900ish left to live on and pay the bills.
Thought i would ask here as to a rough estimate for the bills including insurances etc.
A rough list i've made:
Gas/Electricity - £50?
Water - £25?
Council Tax - £80
BT Line - £15?
Sky - £30?
TV - £11
Buildings Insurance - ?
Contents Insurance - ?

Thanks!
