If you're on about that white one they came out with a while back, then it's just a regular point and shoot with an advanced OS and large touch screen.

quote:Agree with all of this. X10 owner here. Currently enjoying having an incredible amount of funcionality, quality and versatility with me all around London. Would Need to carry a pretty hefty bag of equipment to match the X10 with a DSLR. Not to mention the in-camera filters, HDR and panorama stitching, that'd otherwise need postprocessing.

That's why it's what I'm looking at, for a small price I can use some of the settings I can use on dslr albeit they may be limited, but will give me an insight to see if it's something I'm going to be interested in pursuing further.

Remember that you will sell a dslr and lose virtually no money. Even the bottom of the Nikon or Canon range will be a huge step up on quality. Bridge cameras are limited and wont give you the full photography experience.

I don't think an SLR is going to be any more complicated than a bridge. To get the best out of the bridge you'll still want to play about with and understand shutter speed, aperture and ISO.

Disagree with the above, completely.

Photography is really addictive, so I'd just bite the bullet and go for a DSLR. It'll save you getting a bridge, then buying a DSLR further down the line.
