its a little app from microsoft, although it says it only works on 95/98 & NT, it actually works on all Windows OS as the registry is in the same place for all them

after it deletes it, it gives you a file of what it has deleted, so u can reverse it if necessary

HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>look for symantec folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>look for symantec folders

do at your own risk lol, to run regedit goto Start>Run> then type in "regedit" without quotes.HTH

run a regclean twice over before you start deleting reg entries

makes things a lot easier

i cant remember how to do it, but basically i went through the registry (be careful!) and deleted everything to do with symantec, or NAV (norton antivirus) if u have not got anything else installed by semantec. then do a search for anything by semantec and delete them

hth

how about running regedit.exe, searching for folders with Symantec, Norton etc, and deleting them off, and the try running the install again.

Maybe you deleted the install folder. If you still have an earlier version, you could try reinstalling that, then uninstalling. And trying the new one again.
