I use an xpcodec pack, and media player classic, far superior and very simple to use. plays everything I've thrown at it.

Yeah I also prefer to use media player and throw some codecs at it.

I use cccp codec pack so I don't have to install any other players, I like windows media player.

It's basically ffdshow with some HD stuff added in, plays every video i've encountered and doesn't install loads of stuff like the other codec packs.

i too need a free decoder, is the vlc player the one to download or is there an alternative.

I can't watch DVDs on my laptop and its saying I need a dvd decoder?

Best place to get one free? Just assumed Media Player would play it
