oh, and as above, make sure you know your correct CD key for the approperiate copies of windows your installing. | |

thanks for the reply Bart. I am not at uni now and don't have a router at home...prehistoric 56k i'm afraid. I got the problem after I downloaded "something" from limewire. lol. Do you think formatting is the best option? | |

if i was you chaff, i would connect your laptop to your router (wired) and run an online scan for virus checks (just about any antivirus company has this facility on their website. | |
