Cheers Brett, forgot about the restore, gave it a try but it wouldnt go back far enough to before the virus. | |

It's probably easier to just back up your important files to a USB stick and do a factory reinstall of Windows on your netbook (pressing something like F11 when you turn it on should bring up a recovery menu). | |

Is there not usually a restore in those cases on a separate partition? | |

I know you said no format, but I seriously would advise it as it's probably the easier option (albeit depending on the type of infection). | |

One of my laptops has a virus on it which has managed to make its way past the anti-virus, causing the computer to run terribly slowly, what are the best ways to remove a virus other than the complete format? |
