quote: I thought ALL electrical products came with a warranty of 1 year? Should they fail in 1 year, then you have the right to a full refund, unless they come with a longer warranty or you've somehow tampered with the product.. Putting this aside, 3dtv is a novelty item and I'd not like to see it in my home.

Engineer said the plasma panel was faulty and wrote the tv off, glad to get a refund sticking with my old trusty LG's now.

Our nearest Apple store is miles away so wasn't an option.

Apple normally swap it if you take it to them, as long as they don't try and get out of it by the usual water damage excuse that is.

quote: 28 days is the limit for in store straight swap with O2. It ended up being swapped though after the original was sent off. The mic on it stopped working so when she call no-one could hear her. [Edited on 24-12-2010 by deano87]

you wont get a replacement from samsung, you would be hars pushed to do so after 28 days, plus under 28 days it is the retailers responsibility anyway

Samsung straight swapped my brothers LCD tv a few months after buying it when it went wrong. Just rung them up I think and they sent a courier out to swap it.

you are within your rights to return any faulty or defective item that is under 28 days unless the retailers terms and conditions state otherwise, and yes i speak from experience from samsungs biggest rival.

Isn't the first 28 days your entitled to a straight replacement? I doubt you would get a refund unless you can argue not fit for purpose etc... Depends on the shop. Costco are pretty good and a few other places with warranty issues. After that you have to let them repair. Depending on what has broken they may replace anyway as the part prices often make them uneconomical to repair.

You've no legal right to a refund unless the vendor fails to rectify having been given an opportunity to do so.

As above, bought a samsung 3dtv and blu ray player for £900. Its was ok for a couple of weeks then it developed an intermittent fault and now the fault is there all the time and its not even watchable as the screen is covered in multi coloured pixels. Can i return it and get a refund or will i have to have a replacement? |
