Originally posted by 16vmarc Must say, sum things get trashed for no reason, u kno ur moderating a website dont let the "power" go to ur heads...
IMO it's not about 'power' - after all, it's only a website! However, it's a pretty busy website which is viewed by a lot of people, and as such, needs to (try) and be moderated to a level which keeps the majority of users happy. I can only speak for myself in this instance, but it's not about if a moderator does or doesn't find a thread funny, but its general suitability on the board. If it contains inflamatory (sp) comments (including those pertaining to possible legal issues), 'unsuitable' images or text the it has to go. There also has to be a certain degree of common sense though - after all, yes it is general chat, but this also is primarily a car related website. Anyway, I don't want to waffle any further, but next time a post or thread of yours is deleted, try U2U-ing or e-mailing the moderator in question before making a new thread complaining about it. We will all do our best to explain why it was removed. Oh, one last thing though - this is taken from ScoobyNet but I reckon it's just as applicable here... "They [moderators] are active members of the community, but also give up huge amounts of their own time (free of charge) to support you." We're not out to get people you know... ;)
