There's a locating hole on the gear stick.. Screwdriver or drill bit in there. Then the locating hole on top of the gearbox.. Equals perfect alignment :)

Have to wiggle the selector shaft in the box to get the pin in properly,

Tbh I usually stick the box in first get a mate to hold it in 1st position and nip it up there.

Well had dad give me a hand this afternoon, went back in fairly easily, but with the lmf bushes in made it really difficult to put the centre locating pin back in, but got there in the end, lined up the gearbox and gear stick (or so I thought)

Went for a quick test drive up and down the street, realised I must have aligned it wrong as 3 was where 1st was and had to put in reverse position to get 1st and had no reverse haha

Jacked up the front again, did the whole alignment process again, made sure it was in perfect neutral as it obviously wasn't last time, went through the gears while the whels were off the floor, all ok, drive for 2mins fine, must have been a bit too harsh on the gear changes as on the return trip it went back to having to put in reverse to get 1st?? Weird as the car drove fine when I set off???

So had to jack up and align again, putting it down to the pinch bolt on the gear selector being loose so did up extra tight this time, seems to be fine now, only want to get it moveable so I can get it to work for the respray at work so haven't gone n a long test drive but felt miles better than before now though

Think i used bushes from LMF?

Cir clips are your worst enemy on this one lol

Cir clip pliers come in handy and put tiny bit of grease in them plastic cup bushes

I would also use a bolt and nylock nut at the gearbox end where linkage goes rather than them stupid pins

Ledge, cheers sean

You can use anything as long as it fits through the hole

I'm pretty sure the f20 boxes you use a drill bit.

morning guys

at work at the mo but going home this afternoon and going to take the whole gear linkage off and replace all the bushes and seals with all brand new ones and nylon centre bushes from lmf aswell and a new metal linkage rod instead of the black plastic one

any advice i should take when putting it back in (heard there was a method i have to do to re-align the gearlinkage, gearbox and gear stick??) but not sure if that applies to me as my gear stick doesnt really feel like its connected to anything right now

any help would be great guys as this is the first time iv messed with it
