Originally posted by Mike B :| That would be the one we was behind before? :( Must've cut that a bit fine
Ye the same one. Its got 642 miles on the clock. I went to look at it before :| The rear axle is completely off the car. The spare wheel well is long gone as its only fibreglass. All the airbags went off including the seats, the roof is caved in, the exhaust is smashed, theres no rear bumper, no windscreen, the bonnet is smashed to pieces, theres gaping holes down both sides where a fence went through it and its just a general mess. The only thing salvageable is the engine, 1 wheel and the rear seats. The car that hit him was doing over the speed limit and was driving along the white line. That was admitted by the driver at the scene. My mate wasnt totally blameless but most of the damage was done by the axle coming off. Theres some serious safety issues with the back axle mountings though. Its only bolted through 5mm steel plate. The car that hit him is missing a front wheel, the wing is crumpled and the door is dented. It just doesnt seem like it happened in the same accident.
