I got my 04 plate 1.8 SRi with 45k for £2,000, buth then again its a Cat C, but i seen it get repaired etc. You should find a decent 2001+ SXi for £2k or less.

Corsa C's apparently suffer from rubbish handbrakes, no matter what you replace or what you do. Bad design maybe?

quote: Peice of piss to do. Just take the gaitor off from around the handbrake handle and you can see a long threaded bar with a nut on, Just tighten it up with a 10mm spanner until you have about 3 or 4 clicks on the hand brake. Its a less than 10 ninute job! The one on hers had about 8 or 9 clicks before it would even bite, And then it was piss poor!

just checked my haynes manual (covers chain driven models) and it doesn't give any intervals for chains, only belts?

Bought my sxi about 2 months ago for 1750. Apart from a random knocking noise when i go over bumps its fine.

I dunno mate, my 2.2 Vectra was chain driven and meant to be changed at about 110,000 miles

I don't think you strictly need to replace a chain do you? Just they get noisy.

front springs are common for breakin coils. the hand breaks are not the best either. and some have knocking from the stabilzer if mind right

the 1.2 is chain driven so can obviously get noisy. C gear linkages are notorious for problems but not major to put right.
