Hi, slightly off topic, but was just wondering if anyone knows the MAX rpm of the Corsa 1.2 8V? Is it 6500rpm like most other petrol corsa's?

the 8vs are shite on petrol though, just done the same cardiff run this weekend 440 miles covered this week on 40 quid, the corsa would probably use 65 quid

if i was you i would stay away from the 1.4 spi engine as it is only 60 bhp and has very few tunning abilities also it will use more fuel than a 16v from experience

I did 198 miles to Cardiff every 2 weeks in my 1.2 8valve, Didnt do too bad, just need the radio turned up to drown out the buzz of the engine,

So is the general opinion that the 1.2 16v is a better option than the 1.4 Si 8V ?

quote: I assume the difference in power of the 8v engine is indicated by "1.4si" on the rear as opposed to "1.4i" ? I've seen Si on the rear of an L reg GLS.

That would be deathly slow, and not that great on the motorway.

Heres another consideration as I've found a nice 1.7 Diesel on EBay that is just round thr corner from us.

I'd look for the 1.4 16v engine. Seems happy enough on the motorway.

1.4 8v had 60 or 82bhp, 1.4 16v was 88.

1.2 16v engine will be better than 1.4 8v engine i would presume. one being that 1.2 16v is 65bhp and 1.4 8v i thought was 45bhp?

the 1.2 16v engines are economical good little engines, afm and tps are prone to failing but other than that they are fine.

I'm looking for a Corsa for my wife and have £1000 to spend. For this money there seem to be plenty to choose from with between 60k and 100k miles. |
