I fried my dads mobo when i didnt know what i was doing once, increased the FSB on a standard computer loads and some capacitors on the board melted :lol::lol: | |

i would go for AMD personally, i've never built an intel system. Does the £400 include a monitor? | |

theres sites on the internet with good guides, i taught myself really quickly. You can also get really cool cases too if you build em yourself, like a clear acrylic case with loads of blue lights etc :lol: | |

just been having a look, looks like you can save a lot of money that way, but tbh I don't have a clue how to match the components up with each othger so it will all work :s :boggle: | |

physically plug the bits together, check the jumpers on the drives and motherboard (drives are piece of piss, and motherboard it might be useful to look at the manual, but you might not even have to change anything), plug in the power cables, turn it on, stick the windows disk in the drive and follow the instruction. :thumbs: | |

theres some companies that sell on ebay and offer warranties etc. You thought about building your own? Its really not that hard and will save you a lot of money. If you are interested, have a look at http://www.ebuyer.co.uk/ thats where i get all my components from. :thumbs: | |

I need a new pc, nothing fancy....only things it definately needs is pentium 4 proccesor and firwewire + windows xp |
