Originally posted by vcorsasport1.6 has anyone ever thought....why the fascination (sp) with space...i mean i LOVE space and evrything about it and really do believe that there is something out there...but we at the minute are in space, right out there amongst the other planets! i know we have our atmosphere etc but surely we arent the only one in the whole universe to exist! the odds on that are too small surely? my 2ps worth anyway! brad :D
Was watching the Universe the other day on History HD, and they claim there's 100 billion galaxies, each with 100 billion stars. That's a pretty much infinite amount, there has to be other life out there. It's just that fiinding people in that amount of space isn't gonna be easy. Earth started transmitting radio waves 70 or however many years ago (not sure how long), so they've only travelled 70 light years into space, which isn't even enough to cover 0.0001% of the "known" universe. 1 lightyear = 5,878,499,814,186.5 miles
