Also can i run one power cable but split it to the two amp??? Would an 8 gauge be enough??

well you would have to wire the voice coils in series to get the 500RMS output. Would also be a cleaner signal, so yeh you could

What about this amp

ROC-PUNCH501S

Number of Channels: 2
RMS Power (4ohms): 125 W
RMS Power (2ohms): 250 W
Bridged RMS Power (4ohms): 500 W
Quoted Max Power (4ohms): 1500 W

Built-In Crossovers: LPF 50-250Hz & HPF 50-250Hz 12dB

Should get this opposed to the kenwood, to go this that rockford SUB?
What are the benefits. It cost £239.99. is it worth an extra £75

i think you would hear a diff in quality, but it really depends on your budget.

for the money though, the Kenwood amp looks pretty impressive IMO.

Calm down m8,

:!

didn't mean to imply that u were wrong, i just didn't know it was to do with wiring. Thanks for clearing that up.
Anway would i notice a difference in quailty between say that kenwood and say an equivalent roakford amp (i know they are a bit more expensive, but is it worth it?)

Thkz:)

The 2212 is dual 4 ohm.
The 2112 is dual 2 ohm.

what's the diff between the 2112 and 2212? is one 4 ohm and the other 2 ohm voice coils austin?

for fucks sake one more person tells me im wrong this week when im right again im gonna go off my tits.

12" woofer
3" Voice Coil
Dual 2-ohm voice coils
Power range
500 watts RMS (250 watts per voice coil)
Peak power 1,000 watts

Dual 2 ohm voice coils wired in parallel = 1ohm.

When the engine is on the voltage will be around 14.4volts.

there are 2 types of the rockford sub - 2212 and 2112, would one of these beable to run at 1 ohm for the amp?

The kenwood amp..

SPECIFICATIONS AT 14,4V

200 W Rated power (4Ohm, 20 ~ 200Hz), 0.5%THD
400 W Rated power (2Ohm, 100Hz), 0.5%THD
500 W Rated power (1Ohm), 1.0%THD
1000 W Maximum output power

14,4V....what this mean i thought it was 12V

also the Rockford fosgate ub doesn't run at 1ohm, so that amp would underpower the sub ??

;)

Any other suggests/recommendations plz :D

It is time for me to upgrade!!!

But i need some help. I want a mono amp to run a sub of about 500/600 RMS power. Could you lot help with some suggestion of with one are good.
I thinking of about £180 for sub (12")and between £200/300 for amp. I had a 200 w RMS rockfosgate sub which i liked the sound of so prob keep with one of them but a more powerful version!!

Also i have infinity 505cs components. They are 75 w RMS so could u also suggest a amp to run these:) Are these powerful enough thou????:o

To start i am fully sound deading the car, but what else do i need to do. i got a good wiring kit already, except i will need a lower gauge power and earth cables. Do i need a power cap??? (i got a SXI C if it makes a difference, no Air-CON)

Should i have speakers in the back...if so i would need a 4 channel amp. Or should i keep it simple:-components in front and sub in back?

Thanks!
