Key will have a chip in it yes.

You'll need the matching immobilizer ring and ECU

Im a bit confused.

Ive 2 ecus and 2 immobilizer ring things but 1 key.

So would they key have a chip in it?.

Ive got opcom and the pass code so could reprogram the key in theory??.

Anyone want to give a few pointers what to try?.

if you changed the ecu, did you change the chip?

sounds like immobiliser fault to me

I'd guess at it being Immobiliser from the - Immobiliser Wrong Signal(00) - Not presentP0505

Only a guess though.

also disconected the fuel lines to the rail and cranked it and no fuel coming through so definetly a problem with immobiliser or crank sensor

ordered a sensor its on route, but i doubt its that

really could do with some of you guys expertise on this one

also had a look in the measuring blocks and the fuel pump relay is showing 12v inactive and 0v active when cranking.making me wonder if its crank sensoror is the immobilizer at fault, any help would be amazing, car needs to be mot'd and taxed soon so i can get the gsi off the road for the winter

so orignialy car was flashing eml light, so immobiliser was playing up, so onto opcom reset ecu and erased and reprogramed the key.so that was one problem sorted, no longer locking it out with the flashing em lightso onto the next problem, trying to start the car, it just turns over, wont fire.so far this is all i have
