You need to either use your original ECU or you need to get the key reader (the bit that sits on the ignition barrel) and the key c hip from the old car.. Much easier to change the ecu over though :)

imobiliser, did he use the ecu from the replacement engine or your own engine?

mate of mine just done a straight engine swap because he blew the old engine up. its all fitted and wired up but when he starts the car it runs for a couple of seconds then the engine management lights starts flasshing and then the car turns off

Any ideas?
