another thing is i used to work in a place that built hearses and there f/glass bodies were blended to car. using f/glass matt from behind and then fibre fill and filler from front. never any came back cracked and the oldest i seen was about 7 years old. but then again they were hearses and only go at 20mph. BUT they r driven normally when not in funerals ( ie when going to and from funerals etc) so who knows??????? Just wanted to share that with u all!!!

I agree with wezjax. that was my 1st idea but then couldnt be arsed having to mould the arch coz of the hassle. thought it would be better to match just steel to f/glass instead of steel f/glass and plastic. nearly finished my experiment with the arch. hopefully finished in a week. will get it on and keep us posted.

quote: Im not quite sure wot u mean? I think ur suggesting driving around with a panel soley made of fibreglass? Dont get me wrong im not dissin the idea but it sounds dodgy to me has anyone tried this? Fibreglass can be prone to cracks at the best of times so id presume in this case itd be no different. It is inventive though. BTW drew if thats ur car is it possible u could send me a couple more pix? I keep seein different bits of your car all over this site and it looks the mutts nuts

The biggest problem you will face is you are using 3 different material compounds which all swell and flex at different rates depending on heat.

there is a standard gsi in my town which all its had done is skirts and archs blended in, and its cracked, thats on 14's so it wasnt from the rims rubbing.

No point of even asking m8, no one knows or no one will bother helping u. I am experimenting at home at the minute with a pattern wing using f/glass, it is nearly finished so i will put it on and then see how it lasts.
