sorted the fuel relay problem but the car still wont idle that well. considering replacing the icv and afm but not sure. it has some sort of kent cams in it so could this partly be the problem for ruff running?

ok, hope this sorts my idle problem then as been bypassing the pump

hmm, seems plausable. Yea, as long as the ecu is the correct one doesnt' really matter about the wiring loom.

taken from mig "I don't think there's any difference at all between any of the Motronic 2.5 ECUs. I had an Astra GTE 16v loom (no lambda) with a Calibra (lambda equiped) ECU in my Nova for a while. It ran fine. Then I swapped the loom due to old wiring probs, for a loom from the Calibra with lambda sensor and ran my non lambda engine/Astra GTE ECU on that. I just had to earth out pin 20 on the ECU so it would ignore any signals coming in from the vacant lambda plug."

should i do this

its never had one and was running fine. i think its the 20xe ecu i have

the lambda sensor would be in the exhaust manifold where it becomes a single pipe. You'll need one if the engine requires it as it won't run properly without it.

The other 3 pin plug near the bulkhead is the crank position sensor...

Same sort of plug as that (but 3 pin, not the plug shown)

bought a new fuel relay for my c20xe today and found out its not that. found out if i earth the brown/blue wire from relay it switched the pump to live. i traced this wire back to a plug with 3 pins. anyone know what should plug into it? its near where the loom goes thru the bulkhead on a nova
