get astra gte rear beam...

undo the pipes/cables from the calipers
unbolt the bolts and take off the whole hub assemblys
get an angle grinder and cut the plates off the rear beam(i'll try and find a pic of this)

do the same on the corsa rear beam
then weld the astra plates to the corsa rear beam(make sure there at the right angle cos this will set wear the calipers sit.
redrill the wholes that the bolts go through to hold the hub assemblys on
bolt the hub assemblys from the astra rear beam to the corsa rear beam
hammerite the whole lot
rebend the brake pipes to fit the astra calipers
bolt the beam back to the car
connect the brake pipes and beels the system...
use the corsa long handbrake cable and a 1987 nova short piece handbrake cable.

haven done it but it seems pretty simple

ps that m-tech kit consists of the 2 plates that u cut off the the astra beam and some brake pipe clips.... seem like alot of cash for naff all:rolleyes:

oh and i used new bolts off a nova i think they were (4 each side) as they were allen keys instead of normal bolts as there was NO clearence for a spanner or socket as you have to re-drill the holes

also i had a 2.0 8v cav 5 door but the disks were slightly smaller on back BUT the fixings looked the same so this should work ok but im still 99% sure that i was told cavs with IRS dont fit

hi mate

astra gte 16v is the best bet. i DONT think the cav ones with IRS fit but normal ones should

astra is safe bet tho, id stick with the ones off them. also vectra ones fit if u swap sides and turn them upside down, but it gets hard to bleed them!

i used a 1987 nova cable, only one was listed on halford PC - i remember going to vaux and writing the lengths down of ALL nova ones and then measuring what i nedded and one was ever so slightly longer then i needed so i used that and then bought a clip off a garge door to take up the extra inch or two slack (my garage door has cables inside the frame and i used this as i knew where to get them from but i think most places sell them, was 2 quid tops)

also i too welds off the plate on the stub axel so the wheel sits in a bit more to avoid scrubbing on the arch

all in all mine turned out ace, easy job to do really

Get the rear beam from an Astra. That'll have all the bits you need to salvage.

I think Lee does a kit, or get an MTech one.
